Proposal in Florence, Italy

As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing and capturing some of life’s most beautiful moments. Recently, I had the pleasure of traveling to Florence, Italy, to document a truly unforgettable proposal between Chase and Lainey. Chase proposed in front of the stunning backdrop of one of Florence’s most iconic landmarks, the Santa Maria Novella church.

The Context:

Chase and his family had plans to travel to Greece for the week. Chase realized that Lainey’s family was going to be in Italy the same week! He knew it would be the perfect moment to pop the question. They changed their plans and made a one day stop in Florence, Italy. Chase and his family arrived around 3:00 in Florence. We walked around and scouted out some spots. Lainey arrived in a taxi with her Mom & Dad. She was completely shocked to see Chase standing outside of their hotel.

The Proposal:

Chase told Lainey to go upstairs, and put on her favorite dress. She came back down, and with the Santa Maria Novella church as their backdrop, Chase got down on one knee. He presented Lainey with a a gorgeous ring, surrounded by the beauty and history of Florence. The moment was filled with emotion, joy, and the promise of a lifetime together.

She nodded yes with a huge smile, and that was that! These two will be together forever. They shared a bottle of bubbly, and just soaked in the moment together.

After the Proposal:

After the proposal, Chase & Lainey’s family joined in the celebration. Walking through the cobblestone streets of Florence, I captured candid moments of Chase and Lainey. They basked in the glow of their newly-engaged bliss. Every corner of Florence seems to be the perfect backdrop for engagement photos.

After photos, we walked to a resturant where their families were waiting for us to enjoy a special dinner together. It was so sweet for them to invite me to this dinner and celebration!

It was a beautiful and perfect day for a proposal in Florence, Italy.
